Dr Sarah Pearce is Deputy Director of CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science and leads CSIRO’s Space Research Program. This includes overseeing a recent investment of $16m in space technologies research. Sarah also has responsibility for CSIRO’s role in the international Square Kilometre Array (SKA) project, which will build the next generation of radio telescopes. In this role, she was science advisor on Australia’s negotiating team for the recently signed SKA Treaty.
Prior to joining CSIRO, Sarah was project manager of the UK’s computing for particle physics program and a science advisor in the UK Parliament. She holds a PhD from the University of Leicester and an undergraduate degree in Physics from the University of Oxford.
